Ethos Statement
The ethos of Worcester CASH is to serve God, demonstrating His love for individuals by providing advice, help and support to those struggling with financial difficulties.
Our vision and inspiration come from God’s word, the Bible, which contains throughout, a command to care for the vulnerable, to provide for those in need and to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. (Deut 15, Is 58, Micah 6).
Our ethos is rooted in Jesus’ statement:
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour."
This is a direct quotation from the Old Testament book of Isaiah (Ch 61). Our faith in God and our personal experience of His love provide the motivation for all that we do. This faith and love directs and influences our relationships with each other and our work with clients.
In order to maintain this ethos we pray regularly for this project, individually and together, seeking God’s help and guidance. The Bible provides the frame of reference for all that we do.
